About CMDS

CMDS provides a comprehensive competency-based approach to ensure workers understand their specific job requirements and provide a credible record of achieved skills. It is oriented around skills and profiles, and audited by third-parties to ensure due diligence requirements are met.
Founded in 1998, the Competency Management and Development System (CMDS) was driven by the need for a competency training and tracking system tailored specifically to the requirements of the oil and gas industry sector.
CMDS began at Gulf Midstream and continued with Keyspan and Keyera Corp., and is available to other companies on a fee-for-service basis. Over the years, CMDS has continually grown and evolved into a multi-function application used to provide occupational competency structure, track and report compliance, and support a broad range of training requirements.
Today, CMDS uses Shift iQ for its underlying technology infrastructure, and the system is operated by a highly skilled and incredibly dedicated group of people at Keyera Corp., providing support to industry's leading companies.
